France Controversy: Court Asked to Remove Palestinian Flag from La Courneuve City Hall Over Public Neutrality Law
The prefect of Seine-Saint-Denis has urgently referred the Administrative Court of Montreuil to request the removal of a Palestinian flag displayed on the façade of La Courneuve’s city hall.
The flag was raised by newly elected mayor Aly Diouara (LFI) as a gesture of support for the Palestinian people. Authorities argue that the move may violate the principle of neutrality required in public services.
The court is expected to decide whether the display is legally permissible or must be taken down.
